Privacy Policy

Last updated July 19, 2026

This policy describes exactly what LensPlate collects, which services process it, and how to remove it. In plain terms first, then the details.

Photos stay private

Meal photos live in private storage tied to your account, accessed through short-lived signed links.

AI sees the meal, not you

Photos are sent to our AI provider only to estimate nutrition — never for advertising.

No ads, no tracking

No ad networks, no cross-app tracking, and nothing that requires an iOS tracking prompt.

Delete everything in-app

Profile → Account → Delete Account removes your account, logs, and photos.

01Data we collect

Account data. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name and email address.

Profile data. During onboarding you provide sex, birthday, height, weight, goal, pace, activity level, and diet type. This is used solely to compute your personal calorie and macro plan.

Nutrition data. Meal photos, the resulting calorie and macro estimates, barcode scans, and your meal history.

Diagnostics. Crash reports and basic product analytics (which screens are used, whether a scan succeeded). These are configured without personally identifying content — no session recordings, and search text you type is never captured.

02Meal photos & AI processing

When you scan a meal, your photo is uploaded to private storage (hosted on Supabase) and sent to OpenAI to estimate the ingredients and their nutrition. The photo is used for that estimate and for showing your own meal history back to you — nothing else.

  • Photos are stored in a private bucket only your account can access.
  • Access uses short-lived signed URLs, not public links.
  • Photos are never used for advertising or sold to anyone.
  • Deleting your account deletes your photos.

03Service providers

LensPlate is built on a small set of infrastructure providers. Each one sees only what it needs to do its job:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and photo storage (your account and nutrition data).
  • OpenAI — receives meal photos to estimate nutrition.
  • RevenueCat — processes subscription status; Apple is the merchant of record. Your user ID is shared so purchases can be restored.
  • Sentry — crash reporting, configured with personal information disabled.
  • PostHog — product analytics (feature usage events).
  • Featurebase — our public feedback portal; using it is optional and currently anonymous.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

04How we use your data

  • To analyze your meals and maintain your nutrition history.
  • To compute and adapt your personal calorie and macro plan.
  • To manage your account and subscription.
  • To fix crashes and improve the product.
  • To respond when you contact support.

05Retention

Your data is retained while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, meal history, and photos are deleted. Records we are legally required to keep (for example, purchase records held by Apple) follow their own retention rules.

06Deleting your data

The fastest way is in the app: Profile → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

You can also email dev@abdelrany.com and we'll process the request within 30 days. See Delete My Data for details.

07Children

LensPlate is not directed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

08Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
